The future of Craters Classic is bright!
They may be small, but their passion is huge!
We love to watch young riders like Charlotte who have been coming from Taranaki to Craters Classic for years with her Dad (Kevin) and family take on new challenges.
In previous years Charlotte has tackled the Aratiatia Adventure but this year she is taking on the challenge of the Pumice Pacer alongside Dad, and we think that’s pretty special.
From tackling the climbs to flying down descents, our young riders are showing us all what the future of mountain biking looks like and we can’t wait to see where their journey takes them!
Here’s what Dad had to say about Craters Classic.
“We have been coming along to the Craters Classic event as a family for a number of years. The reason we keep coming back is the whole atmosphere from collecting your race number right through to the prize giving.
The trails are always awesome, the volunteers and marshals are so helpful and bubbly. You even have people dress up as characters along the courses to cheer you on.
There is a race distance for everyone, like riding the 22km Aratiatia adventure as a family a really good loop with some nice single track included.
Last year seeing all the young kids doing the kids craters 7km or 11km with those beaming smiles on their faces was so cool.
If you are feeling adventurous the mid course approx 30km Pumice Pacer has some really good single track that takes in a lot of the parks trail network.
And if you are feeling fit and after a good challenge then the 50km Craters Classic has your name on it.
The MC on the day is so funny from calling the race, right through to keeping the supporters entertained.
The prize giving is great and always funny, and there are lots of sponsored spot prizes on offer.
Come and enjoy a fun weekend, you won’t want to leave”
Listen to Kevin, he knows what he’s talking about :)
Enter now and we will see you there!
