Health and Safety

  • Please pay attention to your entered course colour and directions of arrows. 

  • Every event will have a safety briefing 15 minutes before each race starts which you must attend.

  • All races will have multiple wave starts.

  • There will be medical support on and off the courses.

  • Riders must comply with marshals at all times.

  • There will be roving marshals on course to assist riders.

  • If you come across an accident or injured rider, please assist and advise the closest marshal.

  • Watch for any merges and splits in the course.

  • Please be courteous at all times with other riders and advise when overtaking.

  • Keep left and call out when you plan to pass.

  • Slower riders, please allow other riders to pass.

  • We have trained paramedics at event HQ and out on course.

  • Please do not use headphones at any point during the race, on any event.

  • Please advise the nearest marshal if you pull out of the race for any reason.

  • General Risk Statement - Participation in the Craters Classic involves inherent risks associated with mountain biking, including but not limited to variable terrain, natural obstacles, weather conditions, and the physical demands of the course. While every effort has been made by organisers to ensure the safety of all participants, riders are reminded that they enter and ride at their own risk. It is the responsibility of each rider to ride within their limits, follow event signage and marshal instructions, wear appropriate safety gear, and be aware of other riders on course. By participating in this event, riders acknowledge these risks and agree to take personal responsibility for their own safety and actions.

  • Complaints - At the Craters Classic, we value participant feedback and take all concerns seriously. If you experience or witness something during the event that you feel compromises your safety, wellbeing, or overall event experience, we encourage you to let us know. Complaints can be made in person to event staff or marshals, or submitted after the event via our official feedback form or email. All complaints will be treated with respect and confidentiality, and will be reviewed promptly to ensure continuous improvement of the event.
